Country Still GaGa For Poker Song
April 3, 2022

Ever since the conception of, podcasts like PokerRoad Radio and Big Poker Sundays have had occasion to review songs dedicated to the World of poker and the consensus- with the possible exception of 95 Rocks' "Ace High"- seems to be that they are usually horrible.

So for many PokerRoad poker fans it is truly a surreal experience, that currently it appears America can't get enough of a poker song, specifically Lady GaGa's "Poker Face."

This odd little dance track with lyrics like, "I want to hold 'em like they do in Texas Plays," has skyrocketed up the charts, reaching #1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the iTunes Top Songs list.  Lady GaGa was even recently invited to appear on American Idol to perform the insanely popular song.

Incredibly, as "Poker Face" is Lady GaGa's second #1 hit in only two attempts, the song has actually helped her to achieve a record that no one has been able to claim in nearly 10 years (not since Christina Aguilera's, "Genie in a Bottle" and "What a Girl Wants") according to a recent article from

So will all this attention be good for poker?  That it seems remains to be seen but one thing's for certain, if a lot of new people start walking into card rooms like California's Hollywood Park Casino or Jersey's Trump Taj Mahal, hoping to see a bunch of players that look like Lady GaGa, well let's just say they may be in for a slight surprise.
