A Weekend In The Woods, WPT Foxwoods First Few Days
April 6, 2022

Only 259 players showed up to play in the World Poker Tour Foxwoods Poker Classic- which started last Friday and has run throughout the weekend.  Not nearly as many as this traditionally large event usually garners, but still enought to create a total prize pool worth $2,436,930 and a first place worth $731,079.

In that slightly smaller field many big name pros could still be spotted including Hoyt Corkins, Mike Matusow, Will "The Thrill" Failla, Jonathan Little, Vivek "FLOG" Rajkumar, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and PokerRoad's Gavin Smith and Barry Greenstein.

Greenstein was not initially planning on attending this tournament, at least that's the impression he gave during a recent "Tuesdays With Ivey" conversation he had with Phil, but apparently changed his mind at some point and headed to Mashantucket, Connecticut anyway.  It would be safe at this point to assume he's glad he did, not only did Barry make the money (awarded to the top 30 places), he is currently (at the time of this writing) in fourth place overall with only 16 players still in contention.

Joining Greenstein for the final push are such top pros as Amnon Filippi, David Williams, Allen "The Chainsaw" Kessler and Lee Markholt, who currently leads the field with more than one million in tournament chips.
