Heartland Poker Tour Changes Another Life
April 8, 2022

Kyle Simpson, a jet center technician from Morrison, Colorado, was unable to quite come up with the $340 buy-in needed to enter the main event qualifier for the Golden Gates Casino stop of the Heartland Poker Tour, according to a recent press release from the HPT, but luckily for him a successful run at slots got him the last $40 he needed.

By the end of the Colorado main event, not only did Simpson get his $340 buy-in back, he increased it to $191,340 and along the way claimed the Heartland Poker Tour's most recent title.

"I can't tell you how much this win will change my life," Simpson said with a wide grin, "It might give my mom a heart attack."

Before this event, Simpson was reportedly considering taking a second or even third job to make ends meet, but it is safe to say with this win, Simpson can now put those plans on hold.  Kyle credits his mom for teaching him to play cards when he was just eight years old.

The Heartland Poker Tour- Golden Gates Casino "Top 6" were as follows:

1st.  Kyle Simpson- $191,340

2nd.  Nick Macaluso- $95,670
