The 2009 Irish Open Main Event just wrapped up, according to live blog updates provided by title sponsor PaddyPowerPoker.com, with a new champion taking down a top prize worth about $800,000. 

The new champ, Christer Johansson, outlasted 700 players and eventually beat PokerStars sponsored pro Kara Scott heads-up, to earn the lion's share of the EUR2,240,000 prize pool.
