Latin American Poker Tour Mar Del Plata Begins
April 17, 2022

The last stop on the PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour's schedule, the Mar del Plata Grand Final, began yesterday with the first of two day ones attracting 140 entrants.

This $5,000 + $200 buy-in event has already seen numerous well known players pull up a chair including Chris Moneymaker, Maria "Maridu" Mayrink and tennis legend and PokerStars sponsored player Boris Becker.  Unfortunately, none of these players survived the difficult day to make it into the final 27 of Day 1a but apparently, according to live updates which can be found on the PokerStars blog (www.pokerstarsblog.com), even more PokerStars celebrity muscle is expected to be flexed on Day 1b, so a well known name at the Mar del Plata final table is still a distinct possibility.

Day 1b of the PokerStars LAPT Mar del Plata Grand Final kicks off today (4/17) at noon local time and is expected to attract at least another 115 players, which should bring the total prize pool of this final LAPT Season 2 event, to well over $1,200,000.
