3 Days And Still Plenty Of Talent In The WPT Championship
April 22, 2022

Remarkably, with only 62 players left after Day 3 of the World Poker Tour $25,000 World Championship, the list of surviving players continues reads like a whose who in poker.  Top players like Phil Ivey, David Singer, Jennifer Harman, Scotty Nguyen, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Kathy Liebert, Mike Matusow, Jimmy Fricke, David Benyamine and PokerRoad's Jeff Madsen, are still hanging in and are now within only twelve spots of getting a piece of a WPT prize pool worth nearly $8.2 million.

Of course during Day 3's action for every legend that survived, it seemed at least two others fell including numerous PokerRoad favorites like Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler, Justin Bonomo, Daniel Negreanu, Howard Lederer, Johnny Chan, Shane "Shaniac" Schleger and PokerRoad Radio's Joe Sebok, who was eliminated by fellow PokerRoader Steve Sung, during a crazy up and down day that eventually left Sung almost dead center of the pack in 34th place.

In all over 100 players were eliminated during the Day 3 action, which leaves only 56 to go before we'll finally know who will sit at the prestigious WPT Championship final table.  Given the list of players still in the hunt, including a top five with names like Billirakis, Hyman, Seif, Medic and Singer, it seems a lock that this final table will be something special.
