Mercier Wins "Ante Up For Africa"
April 28, 2022

The first ever European version of the charity poker tournament Ante Up for Africa took place yesterday in Monte Carlo and apparently, according to live reports from the PokerStars blog, was a tremendous success.

The event was won by the well known and beautiful PokerStar's sponsored pro Isabelle Mercier, but more importantly raised over EUR250,000, thanks not only to all the generous poker pros and celebrities that attended but also to sponsor, who reportedly added 100,000 euros themselves.

Well known players who competed in the event include Joe Hachem, Vanessa Rousso, Greg Raymer, Heroes star James Kyson Lee, Jason Lewis from Sex in the City, rugby star Sebastian Chabal and multiple Grammy award winner Nelly.

Other players besides Mercier to make the final table were Tony G, Luca Pagano, Dario Minieri and PokerRoad's Daniel Negreanu.

Ante Up for Africa is a non-profit organization founded by Annie Duke, Don Cheadle and Norman Epstein, which is dedicated to raising money and awareness for Africans in need.  For more information on Ante Up for Africa, or to make a tax-deductable donation, visit
