Harrah's Entertainment Inc., the company behind the globally known World Series of Poker, recently announced the launch of a new subsidiary called Harrah's Interactive Entertainment, Inc. (HIE), an organization charged with managing the global growth of the WSOP by bringing it online in new ways, as well as by exploring European interactive strategies.

"As the world's largest gaming company, Harrah's is taking a proactive approach toward international and interactive expansion," said Harrah's Entertainment Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Gary Loveman.  "It is important we position ourselves to explore new markets as well as new technologies with our best in class brands."

The new Chief Executive Officer of HIE will be Mitch Garber, a man with significant online poker industry experience, after numerous successful years as the CEO of ParyGaming- the company behind the former industry leading PartyPoker.com.

Working with Garber will be the current Commissioner of the WSOP, Jeffrey Pollack, who along with his current duties will now also serve as the President of the newly formed HIE.
