40th World Series Of Poker Now Under Way, Wassup With That!?!
May 28, 2022

It's here already, Event #1 of the 2009 World Series of Poker, the $500 buy-in Casino Employees tournament, began today (5/27) officially kicking off the 57 events that comprise this year's 40th Anniversary edition of what is traditionally, the most important poker party on the planet.

From now all the way until July 15th, every day will feature some major happening in the world of poker.  Nearly every big name poker pro on earth that can legally play in the events, will show up to compete at the Rio Hotel & Casino, knowing full well that one of poker's greatest prizes- a WSOP bracelet, may be just a few lucky cards away.

Following the pros to Vegas, are pretty much all the major poker news and entertainment outlets, each with big plans to capitalize on this year's series with amazing new features and ideas, but sadly from where I'm sitting (and admittedly I'm a little biased) none will be able to touch, as we pull out all the stops to bring you the inside view of the Series like no one else can.

Along with our classic content, such as poker news briefs, blogs from the pros and strategy podcasts, PokerRoad will also be putting out tons of WSOP specific content including new blogfessionals, a rediculous amount of PokerRoad Radios, a new Twitter powered application called PokerRoad Nation featuring informative tweets from the pros that our playing, and piles of other stuff that even I haven't heard about yet.

Tomorrow is the start of Event #2, the one time only $40,000 buy in, 40th Annual No Limit Hold 'em event, and with the start of that huge buy-in tournament things should just get crazier and crazier for the next month and a half.  Stick with as we do our best to help you hang on for the ride.
