During an exclusive party at the Pure nightclub at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the players in the 2008 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship (NHUPC) finally found out who they would have to face in the first round.

The announced match-ups should make for some great poker, with "Kid Poker" himself Daniel Negreanu taking on "The Grinder" Michael Mizrachi; Erick Lindgren battling Eli Elezra, and Poker Road Radio's Gavin Smith facing off against 2007 WSOP Player of the Year, Tom Schneider.

Besides the potential for great poker, there are many match-ups that sound downright entertaining. For instance, celebrity player and sports legend Orel Hershiser has been the man to fear for most of his historic career, however it looks like the shoe will be on the other foot now, as he will have to beat poker legend Ted Forrest just to make it out of the first round. Or imagine the verbal fireworks at Jean-Robert Bellande's table as he goes up against the always entertaining Sam Grizzle. Lastly, try to picture the lovely table that will have Jennifer Tilly facing off against Clonie Gowen.
