WASSUP '09: Johnson Cooks Karp To Win Event #7
June 5, 2021

Early Friday morning, Travis Johnson knocked out his final opponent Steve Karp to successfully take down the seventh event of the 40th Annual World Series of Poker presented by Jack Link's Beef Jerky, and in so doing netted himself a profit of more than $660,000.

Event #7, a $1,500 buy-in No Limit Hold 'em tournament, attracted an astounding 2,791 players, enough to create a total prize pool worth $3,809,715.

The event attracted many top pros including Vanessa Rousso, Brandon Cantu, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Justin Bonomo, Kathy Liebert and "President PokerRoad" Joe Sebok, but unfortunately none were able to successfully navigate through the huge fields to make it to the final table, leaving a relatively unknown group to fight for the lions share of that impressive prize pool.

The final table finish positions for Event #7 were as follows:

1st.  Travis Johnson- $666,853

2nd.  Steve Karp- $414,116

3rd.  Michael Ciotola- $273,385

4th.  Mark Salinaro- $193,343

5th.  Craig McConville- $145,721

6th.  Brian McInnis- $116,234

7th.  Walter Wright- $97,985

8th.  Jim McClain- $87,013
