WASSUP '09: Negreanu Knocks On The Door But Can't Bust Through The Brock
June 8, 2021

After losing $200,000 last week to his good friend Phil Ivey, in an ongoing World Series of Poker bracelet bet, there was little doubt that PokerRoad's Daniel Negreanu was hungry to play a little catch-up and although he came about as close as you can come during yesterday's Event #14 final table, Negreanu just wasn't quite able to secure his fifth bracelet.

The man who played spoiler to Negreanu on Sunday was well known online player Brock "t soprano" Parker, who entered heads-up play with a chip deficit against Negreanu in one of Daniel's best games- limit hold 'em.  Earning much respect, Parker was eventually able to win the day, despite the pressure of playing a living legend on one of poker's biggest stages.

For the first place finish, Brock earned $223,697 and his first WSOP bracelet.

The final table finish positions for Event #14, the $2,500 buy-in Limit Hold 'em/ Six Handed, were as follows:

1st.  Brock Parker- $223,697

2nd.  Daniel Negreanu- $138,280

3rd.  Tommi Horkko-  $89,660

4th.  Kevin Hong- $60,884

5th.  Barry Shulman- $43,201

6th.  Kyle Ray- $31,966
