WASSUP '09: Event #17, It's All About The Hamilton Baby

The Ladies Event of the 40th Annual World Series of Poker concluded yesterday, with Vegas local Lisa Hamilton, claiming the bracelet and a first prize just shy of $200 grand.

Hamilton outlasted 1,059 other female competitors to grab the Event #17 title including such well known players as Svetlana Gromenkova, Karina Jett, JJ Liu, and PokerRoad bloggers Maria Ho and Erica Schoenberg, all of whom made the money, but were ultimately unable to completely traverse the mine field of Kim and Lisas standing between them and the Ladies Event final table.

The final table finish positions for Event #17, the $1,000 buy-in Ladies No Limit Hold 'em World Championship were as follows:

1st.  Lisa Hamilton- $195,390

2nd.  Lori Bender- $120,575

3rd.  Mari Lou Morelli- $78,132

4th.  Angel Pedroza- $53,940

5th.  Kimberly Cunningham- $38,719

6th.  Kimberly Rios- $29,121

7th.  Lisa Parsons- $22,880

8th.  Dawn Thomas- $18,742

9th.  Lisa Santy- $15,973
