WASSUP '09: Event #20, Seidel Shoots For Nine
June 11, 2021

The final table of Event #20, the $1,500 buy-in Pot-Limit Hold 'em, is set to begin today (6/11) and of the nine distinguished players remaining, one legendary figure is certainly garnering most of the attention.  Erik Seidel, one of the all time great World Series of Poker champions with 8 WSOP bracelets and an infamous runner-up finish in the 1988 Main Event, has once again reached a WSOP final table and is now within striking distance of his ninth bracelet.

With only nine players remaining of an initial starting field of 633, Seidel currently sits in third place with 337,000 in tournament chips, significant work to do before catching chip leader John-Paul Kelly with 627,000, but still well within reach of the ultimate goal.

Other well known players who cashed in Event #20 but were not quite able to reach today's final table include Phil "USCphildo" Collins (10th), Kathy Liebert (29th), Roland De Wolfe (34th), Mark Seif (33rd) and PokerRoad's President Joe Sebok (36th).

Current chip counts for the WSOP Event #20 final table are as follows:

Marc Tschirch - 268000

Erik Seidel - 337000

Jason Dewitt - 476000

Kyle Carlston - 320000

Andrew Radel - 250000

John-Paul Kelly - 627000

Ravi Raghavan - 145000

Kirk Steward - 231000

Aaron Virchis - 191000
