WASSUP '09: Event #30, Big Name Final Table Set
June 16, 2021

The 40th Annual World Series of Poker presented by Jack Link's Beef Jerky is featuring yet another exciting pro filled final table today (6/16), with the conclusion of Event #30- the $2,500 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha.

Event #30 started with 436 entrants, enough to create a total prize pool worth over $1,000,000.  In that starting field many well known pros could be seen including "Poppa PokerRoad" Barry Greenstein, Daniel Negreanu, Greg Raymer, Erick Lindgren, Steve Sung, Andy Bloch and Phil Ivey, who once again was able to make it into the money (although just barely), cashing in 44th place for $4,883.

With that cash, Ivey has passed John Brock Parker in the 2009 WSOP Player of the Year race and now sits behind only Ville Wahlbeck, who still leads thanks to his four cashes, including a first in Event #12.

The final table for Event #30 contains numerous internationally renowned pros including tournament monster JC Tran, WSOP-Europe Main Event champion John Juanda and the Hendon Mob's Ross Boatman- the current chip leader of the final table with 718,000 in tournament chips.

It should be noted that this is John Juanda's third final table of this year's Series, having already taken a fourth an Event #23 and a fifth in Event #16.  These first two cashes have earned Juanda 105 WSOP Player of the Year points, which this year (a year that could easily be considered "the year of the Players of the Year") doesn't even get him into the top ten, however with a strong finish today, Juanda could end up as high as fourth in that highly contested race.  Juanda enters today's final table as the short stack of the field, with only 129,000 in tournament chips.

The starting stacks for today's Event #30 WSOP final table are as follows:

Ross Boatman- 718,000

Jeff Kimber- 525,000

Theo Jorgensen- 419,000

Rami Boukai- 325,000

Jean-Philippe Leandri- 324,000

Dallas Flowers- 239,000

Chad Layne- 206,000

John Juanda- 129,000

The final table for Event #30 is set to begin today at 2 p.m. PST and will be broadcast live online at Bluffmagazine.com.  Other ways to follow today's action include following the live updates provided by PokerNews, and/or checking out the all tweets from the PokerRoad Nation.  This should be a good one.
