WASSUP '09: Ankenman Proves The Math In Event #42
June 24, 2021

Jerrod Ankenman, coauthor of the weighty tome The Mathematics Of Poker, earned his first World Series of Poker bracelet yesterday in Event #42- the $2,500 buy-in Mixed Event.

To secure the bracelet, along with the $241,654 top prize, Ankenman had to outlast a total field of 412 players and survive a difficult final day that included Jon "Pearljammer" Turner, Dario Alioto, Chris Klodnicki and PokerRoad's own Layne Flack and Jimmy "Gobboboy" Fricke.

Neither Flack nor Jimmy were able to get much going during Day 3's play and finished seventh and ninth respectively, despite both achieving a top five chip stack at different points during the day.

The final table finish positions for Event #42- the Mixed Event, were as follows.

1st.    Jerrod Ankenman- $241,654

2nd.  Sergey Altbregin- $149,341

3rd.  Chris Klodnicki- $97,896

4th.  Jeff Tims- $67,848

5th.  Jon Turner- $49,568

6th.  Eric Crain- 38,074

7th.  Layne Flack- $30,675
