WASSUP '09: Lisandro, WSOP King Stud
June 25, 2021

All hail Jeff Lisandro!  Yesterday, once the last card had been dealt in the World Series of Poker Event #44- the $2,500 buy-in Razz, Jeff Lisandro could sit knowing he had accomplished one of the most impressive feats in all of WSOP history, earning three bracelets in the same year, each from a different variation of seven card stud.

For this most recent bracelet, Lisandro beat out 315 players including many top pros like David Sklansky, Justin Bonomo, Annie Duke, Daniel Negreanu, John Juanda and Kenna James, who made it all the way to the final table before busting in sixth place.

Lisandro's most stubborn opponent turned out to be well known poker author and Full Tilt blogger, Michael Craig, who ended up heads-up with Lisandro but with little real chance, entering that portion of the match with less the 10% of Lisandro's mountain of chips.  For the still impressive second place finish, Craig earned $116,405.

For winning Event #44, Lisandro earned $188,390, putting his 2009 WSOP earnings above $800,000.  Lisandro also earned another 100 WSOP Player of the Year points, easily making him the front runner in the race with 355 points.  At this stage it would seem Lisandro is nearly uncatchable for Player of the Year, but than again who knows, many wrote the same thing about John Brock Parker after his second bracelet, and now he's barely in the top five.  During the "year of the multiples," it would seem almost anything is possible.

The final table finish positions for Event #44 were as follows:

1st.  Jeffrey Lisandro- $183,390

2nd.  Michael Craig- $116,405

3rd.  Ryan Fisler- $76,260

4th.  Warwick Mirzikinian- $52,772

5th.  Eric Rodawig- $38,470

6th.  Kenna James- $29,472

7th.  Steven Diano- $23,669

8th.  Allen Bari- $19,880
