WASSUP '09: Peisert Outfoxes Dewitt, Takes Down Event #52
July 1, 2021

Germany's Jorg Peisert, claimed the 52nd bracelet of this year's 40th Annual World Series of Poker yesterday, after successfully taking down Event #52- the Triple Chance No-Limit Hold 'em.

The No-Limit Hold 'em Triple Chance, an event that gives every entrant one stack of chips and then two "buttons" to fully replenish or beef up that stack, attracted 854 players despite the $3,000 buy-in, enough to create a total prize pool of $2,357,040.

As perhaps expected, many well known pros entered the event including John Juanda, Erick Lindgren, Kathy Liebert, Eugene Todd "Bro," Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, J.J. Liu and PokerRoad Radio's Gavin Smith, but by the time the final table was reached few recognizable faces remained.  In fact, of the nine final opponents in Event #52, not a single one has ever scored a WSOP bracelet; at least that was the case until Jorg Peisert earned his, once that last fateful card had fallen.

The final table finish positions for Event #52- Triple Chance No-Limit Hold 'em were as follows:

1st.  Jorg Peisert- $506,800

2nd.  Jason Dewitt- $313,227

3rd.  Ben Gilbert- $205,180

4th.  Michael Noda- $142,035

5th.  Jason Somerville- $103,591

6th.  Michael Katz- $79,385

7th.  Karga Holt- $63,781

8th.  William Erickson- $53,622

9th.  Warren Watson- $47,070

Losing pocket kings three times busts you even in triple chance tournaments. Out of #wsop52 and standing in a long line for the stud8 now.
