France's Anti-Online Gambling Law Postponed
March 5, 2022
The European Union is once again attempting to protect foreign online gambling interests from unfairly exclusive national laws. France's 2007 Delinquency Act contained within it a decree similar in purpose to the U.S.'s UIGEA. The decree has been temporarily put on hold by an opinion issued by the European Commission. However, the decree may still be implemented on March 31, 2008. If it is implimented, the European Commission may then launch infringement proceedings immediately.

The European Commission is in charge of representing the European Union, in it's many legal skirmishes.
