Day Ones Done At APPT Macau
August 27, 2021

185 players sat down for the third and final Day one of the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour Macau main event, putting the total number of entrants for the tournament at 429.  Given the HKD $40,000 buy-in, that number of entrants created a total prize pool worth HKD $16,130,400- the biggest in the history of this event.

Of those Day 1c players only 77 survived to see Day 2, enabling them to join the 119 other Day One survivors tomorrow when play continues.

Some of the well known players that competed during Day 1c included Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, J.C. Tran, David "Chino" Rheem, Carter Gill, J.J. Liu and World Series of Poker Main Event champion Joe Hachem.

Of course with more than half of the day's field eliminated many of those players did not survive however some, like both Bertrand and Joe, will move on along with Amnon Filippi, David Saab, Theo Tran and Joe's brother Tony.
