Chip Leader Disqualified At WSOP Circuit Prelim Event
March 10, 2022
Lesley S. Thornburg, a player at the $300 buy-in preliminary WSOP Circuit event at Caesars Atlantic City, was disqualified for unruly behavior while holding the chip lead at final table. Despite several warnings from tournament officials, Thornburg spent most of his time at the final table making loud obnoxious comments, baiting his opponents, and in general just annoying everyone in attendance.

With Thornburg's disqualification he secured fifth place money in the event, instead of the first place prize he was well on the way to at the time. His chips were taken out of play and play continued.
