Caesars Cup Teams Continue To Grow
September 1, 2021

The two teams for the upcoming inaugural Caesars Cup poker challenge, a made-for-TV Ryders Cup-style poker tournament set to go down later this month, have increased in size once again as the two captains, Daniel Negreanu- representing the Americas and Annette Obrestad- representing Europe, recently announced two more additions each to their 8-person rosters.

PokerRoad's Negreanu, who in certain circles is almost as well known for his love of fantasy sports as he is for his dominance at the poker table, is obviously taking the challenge of building a perfect poker team seriously, adding two more unquestioned poker legends to his already talent bloated team.  Having previously tapped Phil Ivey, John Juanda and Phil Hellmuth for this ESPN televised event, Captain Negreanu has now also confirmed the participation of the "Godfather of Poker" himself, Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson, as well as one of the most successful female poker players of all time, Jennifer Harman.

Not to be out done, Captain Obrestad, who interestingly enough sits just above Harmon on the Hendon Mob's "Women's All Time Money List," has added two more universally feared players to her European team roster as well, a team that already holds Dario Minieri, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and current WSOP Main Event champion Peter Eastgate.  Annette's two newest members, now known to be Ilari "Zigmund" Sahamies and Patrik Antonius, both could be said to represent the new school of poker and can often be found playing in the absolute highest limits online, making them a perfect fit for a team that seems to emphasize current aggressive dominance, over long term proven results.

The Caesars Cup challenge is set to roll September 25th, during the World Series of Poker Europe in London.  For more information visit
