The first event of the 2009 PokerStars World Championship Of Online Poker is officially underway and if today's start is any indication, this year's series looks to be the best yet.

Not only has the first event of the 2009 WCOOP just smashed its $1.25 million dollar posted guarantee by nearly a half million dollars, thanks to 8,538 registered players, PokerRoad has officially begun its extensive coverage of the series as well, which this year includes blogs from the players and the PokerStars blog team, tweets from the pros courtesy of the PokerRoad Nation and the first of 17 daily episodes of PokerStars WCOOP Radio featuring PokerRoad mainstay Scott Huff.
