The newly developed Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) is looking to make a major splash with the help of PokerStars.com and their stable of big-name pros. This exciting new tour will focus on the current poker boom taking place in Central and South America and has already listed its first three events in Brazil, Costa Rica, and Uruguay. Many of these new events will be attended by members of Team PokerStars, as PokerStars does its best to grow this potentially huge new market.

The LAPT's inaugural event will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from May 3-5. PokerStars pros Humberto Brenes of Costa Rica and Andre Akkari from Brazil have already signed on for the historic event.
