WPT Borgata Starts Tomorrow
September 18, 2021

After two exotic events in Slovakia and Merit Cyprus, the World Poker Tour is finally returning to American soil tomorrow for the start of the Borgata Poker Open championship.

Tomorrow's event is the first American WPT tournament in some time that has not boasted a buy-in of at least $10,000, with officials at the Borgata instead opting to lower the buy-in to $3,300 + $200, in hopes of attracting record sized fields like the one they saw for their Borgata Winter Poker Open last January.

Despite the lower buy-in, this year's WPT Borgata Poker Open championship will still feature two day ones as well as a $2 million dollar guaranteed prize pool.

The 2008 Borgata Poker Open- at the time still a $10 grand buy-in- attracted 516 players and awarded a top prize of $1,424,500 to PokerRoad favorite, Vivek "FLOG" Rajkumar.
