WCOOP NEWS Final Day: Yevgeniy Timoshenko Wins Online Poker's Big One
September 22, 2021

Yesterday, marked the end of the line for the PokerStars 2009 World Championship Of Online Poker and my what a way to end it.

Respected live pro, Yevgeniy "Jovial Gent" Timoshenko, claimed the series' biggest prize as well as the WCOOP's most respected bracelet yesterday, when he outlasted 2,144 players to win the 2009 WCOOP Main Event.

Along with besting countless well known pros, Timoshenko also outlasted a final table that held the previously, seemingly unstoppable, Daniel "djk123" Kelly, fresh from his second 2009 WCOOP bracelet win from Event #44.

Although Kelly came up just short from grabbing an unthinkable third bracelet during the same WCOOP, his fourth place bow to Timoshenko in the Main Event, was enough to secure Kelly the Player of the Series title, as well as the trophy and 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Premium Package that goes with it.

Far from his first prestigious win, Yevgeniy Temoshenko also holds an Asian Poker Tour Title, as well as a World Poker Tour $25,000 Championship Event title; a poker hat trick, sure to be the envy of nearly every serious tournament player.

The final table finish positions for the 2009 PokerStars WCOOP Main Event were as follows:

1st.  Jovial Gent- $1,715,200.00
