WSOP Europe Main Event: The Day Ones
September 28, 2021

Day 1a and 1b of this year's World Series of Poker Europe Main Event attracted 334 entrants, creating a total prize pool worth ?3,340,000 or about $5.3 million USD.

The total prize pool guarantees a potential first prize worth more than $1.2 million to the eventual winner of this year's Main Event, but perhaps just as importantly to many of the top pros in attendance, the winner is also guaranteed to walk away with a WSOP Europe Main Event bracelet.

As is usually the case in these types of things, for each player who survived the first difficult day, two to three others were sent to the rail including in this case Patrik Antonius, Nenad Medic, Hoyt Corkins, Phil Ivey, J.C. Tran, Huck Seed, Peter Eastgate and Vanessa Rousso.

Players still alive and fighting include Daniel Negreanu, Antonio Esfandiari, Doyle Brunson, Annette Obrestad, Dennis Phillips, Mike Matusow and Steve Zolotow.

Day 2 of the Main Event has already begun today and is expected to last past midnight, London time.  For more information, as well as live updates visit PokerNews.com.
