The Weekend At The EPT

After an interesting weekend, at what is now being billed as the largest poker tournament ever held in Europe, the 2009 PokerStars European Poker Tour London main event starting field of 730 players, was reduced down to 111.

Of those that remained after the two day ones and one day two, sat many familiar names including Annette Obrestad, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, John Juanda, Roland De Wolfe, Alex Kravchenko, Carlos Mortensen, Peter Eastgate and Vivek "FLOG" Rajkumar, each still in contention for a top prize worth ?850,000 (about $1,350,000 USD).

Players sent home include Jason Mercier, Dennis Phillips, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Joe Hachem, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Gus Hansen, Humberto Brenes and the new WSOP Europe champ Barry Shulman.
