Things Are Getting Interesting At PartyPoker World Open V
October 13, 2021

The PartyPoker.com World Open V, a 48-person invite only live poker tournament held at London's Palm Beach Casino, is really beginning to heat up.

This $10,000 buy-in, shootout style tournament began Sunday with an impressive list of top players coming out to play.  One of those players, Luke "FullFlush1" Schwartz, though invited nearly had to be replaced at the eleventh hour, when it was discovered that his recent banning at a different London casino- due to an unpaid for egg sandwich and generally being a pain- may have carried over to all UK Casinos, because when he arrived to play his heat against tough competition like Yevgeniy Tomashenko, Ian Frazer and James Akenhead, he was told he could not enter.  Luckily for Schwartz- and just as unluckily for his competition- he was eventually allowed to compete, with the special condition that a security guard be assigned to him at all times, perhaps to prevent future egg sandwiches from being victimized.

Schwartz went on to win his heat and will now compete in the finals- assuming the casino allows it- along with other winners Phil Laak- and remarkably- his girlfriend Jennifer Tilly, who also beat her table to make the finals.  Tilly's table included among others Roland De Wolfe and Tom "durrrr" Dwan.

Story lines are popping up all over the place in this one, and we've yet to even discuss the $250,000 first prize.  It seems the poker action in London just keeps going.  For more information on the PartyPoker World Open V check out the PartyPoker blog (www.partypoker.com).
