Mike Sexton Gains Entry Into The Poker Hall Of Fame

Mike Sexton, one of the most recognizable faces in all of poker, it was announced today, will officially become the 38th member of the Poker Hall of Fame.

Sexton, known widely as "The Ambassador of Poker," will be this year's only inductee, earning entry no doubt both for his year's of success on the felt against some of the best players in the game but also for all his amazing contributions at growing the sport, most notably as the popular folksy host and analyst for the World Poker Tour.

At 62-years-young Mike Sexton has filled nearly every role in the poker community, gaining notoriety not only as a broadcaster but as an author, columnist, online site consultant, businessman and philanthropist, having donated substantial portions of his own winnings to charity and serving as a Co-Founder of, an organization dedicated to facilitating the poker world's desire to "Give Back" to worthy causes. 

Sexton's accomplishments on the felt, besides competing in some of the largest cash games, include 47 World Series of Poker cashes, a WSOP bracelet in Seven Card Stud, a victory in the 2006 WSOP Tournament of Champions and over $3.7 million in tournament winnings dating back as far as the early Eighties.

Mike will officially be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame on Saturday, November 7th, during the WSOP Main Event Final Table festivities.  The other eight candidates for consideration, having gotten this far, will remain eligible for reconsideration in 2010.
