Day 1b at The EPT Warsaw
March 13, 2022
The Hyatt Regency Casino in Warsaw, Poland saw another exciting day of poker action yesterday with a second crop of hopefuls putting down their money in the hopes EPT success. Day 1b featured less players overall than the previous day 1a; however, the overall toughness of the field would have to be considered substantially more difficult. Big name pros like Greg "Fossilman" Raymer, Sorel Mizzi, Thor Hansen, Rolf Slotbloom and Andy Black all chose the 2nd day to begin their climbs to the top at this year's European Poker Tour Polish Open, presented by PokerStars.net. Many of these pros were ultimately unsuccessful, destined not to make it to day 2. However some of them, like Mel Judah, Liz Lieu, and the aforementioned Mr. Black, were able to survive the difficult day and move on to today's shortened field of 130 players.

In total between the two starting days, 359 players entered the 2008 EPT Polish Open, creating a prize pool worth about two million Euros and a first place prize of 2,154,000 Polish Zloty (about 600,000 Euros or $930,000). The 359 players of this year's event easily surpassed last year's field of 284, once again demonstrating the growing popularity of the European Poker Tour.
