It's Raining Zloty For 24 Remaining In EPT Warsaw
October 23, 2021

After a relatively short Day 3 in Poland, that saw the elimination of another 31 players, we are in the money at the PokerStars European Poker Tour Warsaw main event.

Many recognizable pros ended their events during the difficult Day 3, including Mel Judah, Peter Eastgate, Sorel Mizzi and former Day 1 chip leader Carter Phillips- leaving only Shaun Deeb as the last American in the field with a chance at the trophy.

Joining Deeb in tomorrow's final 24 will be Vitaly Lunkin, Luca Pagano, Peter Hedlund and chip leader Jeffrey Sarwer; a former chess prodigy who according to live updates provided by PokerStars, was the original basis for the kid Josh Waitzkin plays in the end of the movie Searching For Bobby Fischer (fans of the film will remember him as the "trick or treat" kid that wouldn't take the draw).

With 956,500 in tournament chips- nearly double that of his closest opponent fellow Canadian Clayton Mozdzen- Sarwer is looking good to finally earn his first major tournament poker win, but with 23 other tough opponents still in the field, his victory- much like in Searching For Bobby Fischer- is anything but a foregone conclusion.
