The Caesars Palace Classic Main Event Starts Strong
October 28, 2021

PokerRoad podcasters rock Day 1

The $5,000 buy-in Caesars Palace Classic main event began yesterday with 162 players creating a total prize pool worth $762,129.

This impressive showing for a non-televised main event- not associated with a major tour- was bolstered even further with the attendance of numerous well known and respected tournament pros including David Singer, Issac Haxton, Phil Gordon, David Williams, Jon Turner, Matt Vance and PokerRoad Radio's Gavin Smith, who sadly was one of the only PokerRoad personalities to enter the event and not survive Day 1 play.

Some of the pros who did survive include Christian Harder, Theo Tran, Dutch Boyd and PokerRoad podcasters Bryan Devonshire, Justin Bonomo and Jimmy Fricke- the last two of whom currently sit in first and second place respectively on the Day 1 leader board, according to live updates and chip counts available at

The top prize for this event is listed at $246,928 and will be hotly contested today, when the 84 remaining players return to Caesars at noon.
