The Shangri-La Resort and Spa outside of the Philippine city of Cebu, is the next stop on the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour and despite the somewhat isolated- though beautiful- location, yesterday's day 1a of the event was still able to attract 106 excited tournament players- 50 of whom survived to tell the tale.

This 100,000 Philippine Peso buy-in event (about $2,140  USD) will be able to count numerous recognizable pros in its starting field including Eric Assadourian, Raymond Wu, Van Marcus and Tony Hachem, which should make for some exciting poker action for the many filipino poker fans keeping an eye on the competition.
