Still Time To Tweet For Poker
November 19, 2021

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), saving any last minute reprieves from the Federal Treasury or the Federal Reserve, is set to be fully implemented this December 1st, forcing all banks to completely comply with the new regulations regardless of the consequences to the banking industry or individual's rights.

It could truly be a dark day for poker players, but the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) is doing all they can to stop that from happening including their new, easy to join, Tweet For Poker campaign.

Tweet For Poker, is a new way for players to talk directly to their representatives in Congress by sending quick tweets directly to their individual Twitter pages.  As Twitter is still a relatively new technology, many of these representatives still personally maintain their Twitter accounts, making this a great opportunity to bypass the handlers and actually talk to the decision makers themselves.

To take part in the Tweet For Poker campaign, just visit the PPA home page (www.theppa.org) and click on the Tweet For Poker link.  Once there it's simply a matter of entering your street address and zip code, and the PPA redirects you to your personal Twitter Home Page with a  pro-poker message already filled out and addressed to the congressperson that represents your area.  Then just click update.

Without sounding overly biased, this is a great way to help poker and one already getting noticed, with the Tweet For Poker campaign recently being covered in The Hill- a news publication written primarily for members of the U.S. Congress and focusing on all things Congress related.

For more information on the UIGEA, the December 1st deadline or the Tweet For Poker campaign visit www.theppa.org.
