Russian online poker pro "innerpsy" achieved a new world record recently when he successfully played over 40,000 hands of poker in the same day.

"Innerpsy," obliterated the old record despite never playing more than 20,000 in one session before, according to a recent story which can be located on the PokerStars blog.

Though he gave himself 24 hours to overcome his challenge, it actually only took the mad Russian a little over 18 to reach the goal of 40,000- actually officially ending the challenge with 40,088 hands played.

The session was played on PokerStars and thanks to a popular Russian poker forum was followed by nearly ten thousand rail birds both by live video stream and radio broadcast.
