EPT Prague Breaks Its Own Record
December 2, 2021

Day 1b of the PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague main event attracted over 360 players, creating a starting field- when added with yesterday's group- of 584 runners overall; 14 more than last year, and enough to make this the biggest poker tournament ever held in the Czech or Slovak Republics, according to event organizers.

The 584 players created a total prize pool worth EUR2,842,100, guaranteeing the winner a top prize worth over 680,000 euros, or more than $1,000,000 in US folding money.

As the two Day Ones played out, many of those players were denied a chance at earning any of that prize pool by being sent to the rail, however nearly 330 were fortunate enough to make Day 2 including Luca Pagano, Jeff Sarwer, Marcel Luske, Katja Thater, Roy Winston, Theo Jorgensen, Noah Boeken and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, hot on the heels of chip leader Marc Gork, with 159,800 in tournament chips.
