Skampa Keeps The EPT Prague Title In Prague
December 7, 2021

Jan Skampa, the last Czech standing when the PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague main event reached the final 24 players, went on to claim the victory this weekend, and in doing so also became the first Czechoslovakian champion in the Tour's history.

To earn this fitting title, not only did Skampa have to outlast a total field of 584 players, but also a tough final table that held both Stefan Mattsson and the always impressive Luca Pagano- his record sixth EPT final table of his pro career.

Pagano was only able to parlay this particular final table appearance to a sixth place cash worth EUR100,000, whereas Skampa earned EUR682,000- or more than $1 million US money- as well as a free entry to the EPT Grand Final to be held in Monte Carlo next April.

The final table finish positions for the PokerStars 2009 EPT Prague main event were as follows:

1st.  Jan Skampa  EUR682,000

2nd.  Eyal Avitan   EUR454,000

3rd.  Stefan Mattsson   EUR255,000?

4th.  Anthony Roux   EUR171,000

5th.  Larry Ryan   EUR135,000

6th.  Luca Pagano   EUR100,000

7th.  Gustav Ekerot   EUR71,000

8th.  Sven Eichelbaum   EUR55,500
