Birdguts Makes Back To Back Final Tables At Niagara Poker Classic
January 14, 2022

PokerRoad Radio's Gavin "Birdguts" Smith, fresh from his $188,743 First Place win early Tuesday morning, in the $2,500 buy-in event at the Fallsview Poker Classic, today finds himself at yet another final table, this time in their $5,000 main event.
To earn that first win, Smith surpassed 275 other players and survived a difficult 19 hour final table that ended mere hours before the start of the $5,000 buy-in main event, making it somewhat remarkable Gavin was even able to wake up to compete in that next event, much less outlast all but 6 of the 155 player total field.

Gavin enters today's final six as a short stack with 135,000 in tournament chips, yet even to make it this far again so soon, only seems to confirm a now somewhat obvious tweet, Gavin himself sent on Day 1 of the event,

"Dinner break in the 5k, I have 117k, turns out I run well in Niagara!"  -@oleGSmith

The chip counts at the start of today's final table play, for the $5,000 buy-in Fallsview Poker Classic main event, were as follows:

John Moore - 1,155,000

Dominic Staniscia - 666,000

Simon Charette - 587,000

Van Binh Pham - 454,000

Gavin Smith - 135,000

Peter Topos - 123,000

First place in this year's Fallsview Poker Classic pays $270,630, the largest chunk of a total prize pool worth $721,680.
