Pappas Prepares Us For Important Committee Vote
January 19, 2022

John Pappas, the Executive Director of the Poker Players Alliance, has released a new video blog on the non-profit organization's website, stating a key poker regulation vote may be imminent.

This vote, said to be coming sometime next month, centers around Congressman Barney Frank's Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection and Enforcement Act (H.R. 2267), and is according to Pappas, "the first time, ever, that there will be a vote on licensing and regulation of internet poker and internet gaming in general."

This committee vote, is one of the first steps in bringing H.R. 2267 to the House floor for a full  vote- Frank's long-term goal for the legislation- and in the video Pappas tells players he once again needs their help, to make sure legislators approve it by the kind of overwhelming margin that is sure to send a statement.

Pappas ends the video with promises of greater details in the near future, on what exactly regular players will be able to do, to help bring about bipartisan support for this very important, pro-online gaming legislation.
