Second Day Done At Southern Poker Championship
January 26, 2022

Day 2 of the 2010 World Poker Tour Southern Poker Championship, saw pros drop like skeeters around the front porch bug zapper.  105 players returned to the Biloxi main event tables for the second major day of play, but only 27 would remain by the time event organizers called it quits.

The long list of names eliminated during the difficult day includes such crowd favorites as Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler, Michael Binger, Daniel Negreanu, Jonathan Little, Chad Brown, Joe Serock, Paul Wasicka and PokerRoad Radio's Gavin Smith, who busted about half way through the day during level nine.

As is always the case after Day 2, the list of pros still huntin' is quite a bit smaller than the list of bust outs, but this time those survivors include Hoyt Corkins, J.J. Liu, Dan O'Brien, James Mackey, Dwyte Pilgrim and Jared Jaffee- the chip leader by the end of Day 2 play.

With only 27 remaining at the Beau Rivage, the Southern Poker Championship is now only 9 players away from the money, which should make for some real interesting Day 3 play.  To see what players make that money, and which ones turn up as gator bait, check out the World Poker Tour website ( for updates, current chip counts and some surprising candid videos featuring PokerRoad's Amanda Leatherman and folks like Kathy Liebert, Daniel Negreanu and Jeff Madsen.
