Madsen Wins Winter Poker Open Main Event
February 5, 2022

PokerRoad's Jeff Madsen, took down the 2010 Winter Poker Open main event at the Borgata today (2/5/10), earning himself $625,006.

Madsen, perhaps most well known for his two World Series of Poker bracelet wins in 2006 (or for his rapping), outlasted a total field of 766 players throughout the course of the week in Atlantic City, and survived a tough final table that held both Matt Matros and tourney pro Sirous Jamshidi, who entered the final table as the chip leader with nearly 5 million in chips.

The highly experienced Jamshidi, was able to use those chips to push himself all the way into heads-up play, but was unable to get past Madsen, who all week seemed set on continuing what is shaping up to be a stellar 2010, having also gone deep (19th) in the first major event of the year- the $10,000 buy-in PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

With this win, Madsen's Career tournament earnings have now surpassed $3,000,000.

The final table finish positions for the 2010 Borgata Winter Poker Open are as follows:

1st.  Jeff Madsen $625,006

2nd.  Sirous Jamshidi $367,794

3rd.  Tom Marchese $190,027
