Valentines Day Doesn't Dampen PokerStars Sunday Million Showing
February 15, 2022

Despite a major holiday taking place on Sunday, that traditionally tends to "highly encourage" people to leave their computers and head to expensive restaurants, yesterday's PokerStars Sunday Million, still attracted enough players to easily surpass its $1.5 million guarantee.

8,341 players chose to compete in the February 14th PokerStars Sunday Million, enough to create a total prize pool worth $1,668,200.  Such a large showing guaranteed 1,260 players would make the money, with the victor having a chance at a top prize worth over $245,000.  Of course that prize being rewarded in its entirety, would mean no deal was struck at the final table and with so much money on the line, the possibility of that seemed fairly unlikely.

Indeed, a deal was struck, but not until play reached the heads-up stage when both players agreed upon a chop with nearly identical chip stacks at the time.  Thanks to that deal, online player "Blompf" was able to secure a top prize worth nearly $228,000, after dispatching his final rival "oldrich88," who got out with nearly $200k himself.

The final table finish positions for the 2/14/10 PokerStars Sunday Million were as follows:

1st.  Blompf- $227,757.02*?

2nd.  oldrich88- $196,971.38*

3rd.  iownoknp- $125,115.00

4th.  Ramewa38- $83,410.00

5th.  qsf84- $66,728.00

6th.  Profesoras- $50,046.00

7th.  Saygoodbye40- $33,364.00

8th.  13sneik13- $18,350.20

9th.  Catafract80- $12,928.55

*Some payouts reflect deal made at the final table
