Nordic Poker Awards "Finn"ished
February 16, 2022

During a somewhat intimate gathering at Copenhagen's Park Caf? nightclub, PokerStars awarded their trophy's for this year's Nordic Poker Awards.

Nominations for this year's awards included players from Denmark, Sweden and Norway, but it was Finland that seemed to run away things, with two Finns earning awards and one player, Ville Wahlbeck, earning two.

Ville Wahlbeck, who had four six-figure cashes during last year's World Series of Poker- including a first in the $10,000 Mixed event- won the top spot for both Best Live Tournament Player of the Year and Best Performance of the Year, officially claiming 50% of the awards given out.

The other two major awards were given to Sweden's, Kristoffer "Sumpas" Thorsson, for Rookie of the Year, and Full Tilt Poker sponsored pro Patrik Antonius, who earned the trophy for Best Online Player of the Year- despite currently trailing Tom "durrrr" Dwan in the "durrrr Challenge" by nearly $1.5 million.
