WPT Celebrity Invitational Concludes With Washington Getting The Win
March 4, 2022
LeRon Washington, a boxer from West Virginia, is the newest champion of the annual World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational, a freeroll of sorts that this year saw over 560 poker pros and assorted celebrities assemble at the Commerce Casino to compete for their share of a WPT donated prize pool worth $200,000.

Washington, who won his seat to the event via ClubWPT- a subscription based online poker room- earned a full 50% of that prize pool by conquering the final table, and along with the $100,000 top prize also earned a free entry into the $25,000 buy-in WPT World Championship (most likely significantly higher stakes than the $19.95 a month he's apparently use too).

Some of the other players who cashed at that final table include poker professional Thor Hansen, reality TV star Trishelle Cannatella and Sean Urban, who earned a runner-up cash worth $50,000, after a serious heads-up battle that saw Urban nearly steal the event away from Washington, despite his significant chip lead going in.

Cannatella, this week’s featured guest on the poker news and entertainment show Poker2Nite, took third in the tournament for $20,000, her second major win of 2010, having previously taken down the $1,000 buy-in Trash Talk Championship of the World in February.
