Tournament poker bargain hunters will be happy to hear that the Venetian Poker room in Las Vegas has added yet another "Deep Stack Extravaganza" (DSE) to this year's calendar. This most recent addition will run from April 5th through the 26th, with 300+30 buy-ins offered every day of the event.

The Venetian has had tremendous success with these events, often selling out the tournaments despite the ever growing competition in the Vegas market. The reason for this success seems obvious, as DSE's give players on a budget a chance to play tournaments with long levels (40 minutes) and deep stacks (4,500 in chips with optional 1,500 more with $10 dealer gratuity) without having to mortgage the farm to do so.

With this most recent addition, there are now four Deep Stack Extravaganzas on the 2008 calendar:

Deep Stack Extravaganza I, February, 2008 (completed).

Deep Stack Extravaganza II, April 5-26, 2008.

Deep Stack Extravaganza III, May 29-July 16, 2008.

Deep Stack Extravaganza IIII, November, 2008.

It is apparent that the Venetian has stumbled upon a winning formula with these tournaments, one that players continue to support. Given this support, don't be surprised if even more additions to the calendar are made before the end of 2008.
