WPT Bucharest Wraps With Darcourt Claiming The Title
April 2, 2022
The first World Poker Tour event to take place in Romania came to a close today, with Frenchman Guillaume Darcourt as the last player with chips.

Darcourt outlasted a total field of 161 players to take the Bucharest title, and though his win wont be seen on TV as part of the regular WPT season, his victory in this €3000 + €300 main event was rewarded with a €125,846 top prize (about $170,000 USD) and a seat to the WPT World Championship worth $25,000.

The exotic location of this particular WPT stop- and lack of television exposure- did seem to stop some of the bigger names on the tournament circuit from taking part, however some recognizable pros did make the trip including Jose Barbero, Thomas Bichon and Carlos Mortensen, who wasn’t quite able to follow up his recent WPT Indiana win with another cash, when he sadly bubbled the money in Bucharest.

The final table finish positions from the 2010 WPT Bucharest main event were as follows:

1st.  Guillaume Darcourt- €125,846 + $25,000 WPT World Championship seat

2nd.  Simon "Schnibl0r" Münz- €93,400

3rd.  Joseph Ebanks- €59,750

4th.  Jose De La Guardia- €36,600

5th.  Abdula Atila- €30,550

6th.  Eva Losif- €23,150
