The weekly $215 buy-in Sunday Million tournament on PokerStars, despite landing on a major holiday, still managed to attract 9,749 players to its virtual tables yesterday, once again proving its status as the 800 lb gorilla of the online Sunday majors.

With nearly 10,000 players by the time registration closed, the event was able to boast a total prize pool worth nearly double its name and almost $500,000 more than its posted guarantee, eventually coming in at a weighty $1,949,800.

That pool was eventually divided amongst the impressive 1,440 players that were lucky enough to make the money with the largest chunk, worth $272,977.58, all going to one winner “acechipchase” as no deal was struck during the final table.
