Selbst Succeeds At NAPT Mohegan Sun
April 12, 2022
Vanessa Selbst, completed her amazing week of tournament poker at the PokerStars North American Poker Tour Mohegan Sun main event yesterday, the way all players hope to, by claiming the title and taking the top prize.

After a week of battling many of the best players in the game, and continually ending her days at- or near- the top of the leader board, Selbst sat down on Sunday second in chips at a tough final table full of internet monsters, bracelet holders and a proven new NAPT star, to finish the job she started and become the first female champion of the NAPT.

The atmosphere at the final table appeared friendly throughout yesterday’s short battle, but to many there it definitely appeared that Selbst was in control of things.  Besides eliminating three of the final eight players personally, Vanessa found herself early in the event with a dominating chip lead worth more than double her closest opponent’s- after she eliminated  Derek Raymond in sixth place- and was able to capitalize on that stack to punish her opponents for the rest of the event- which at that point mercifully ended barely more than two hours later.

It was an impressive victory from a player that already has quite a few to her resume and one which earned her a PokerStars NAPT trophy and a top prize worth $750,000 to her bankroll- minus her $5,000 buy-in.

The final table finish positions for the 2010 PokerStars North American Poker Tour Mohegan Sun main event were as follows:

1st.  Vanessa Selbst- $750,000

2nd.  Mike Beasley- $428,000

3rd.  Michael Woods-  $240,000

4th.  Scott Seiver-  $190,000

5th.  Alistar Melville-  $150,000

6th.  Derek Raymond-  $115,000

7th.  Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy-  $85,000

8th.  Jonathan “FatalError” Aguiar-  $60,244
