Gavin Leads A Slightly Less Populated Borgata Spring Poker Open
April 14, 2022
Day 1 of the $7,500 buy-in, Borgata Spring Poker Open in Atlantic City concluded recently, with PokerRoad Radio’s own Gavin “The Caveman” Smith at the top of the tournament leader board.

At 62 runners in total, the field of this year’s Spring Poker Open is substantially smaller than many of the fields Gavin is probably use to, however what this tournament may be lacking in size, it seems to more than make up for in degree of difficulty; a fact that is plainly apparent simply by looking at the list of pros figuratively nipping at Gavin’s heels.

Some of the other well known players currently in the top ten out of the 39 Day 1 Borgata survivors include Christian Harder, Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy, Todd Terry, Lee Markholt, Chris Klodnicki and Sorel Mizzi (seriously, all in the top ten).

With only 62 players in total, this event was unable to reach its posted $500,000 guarantee, so every player that cashes is assured of a little extra unexpected value- via the the good folks of the Borgata- with first place collecting the biggest chunk worth $170,313.

Day 2 of the Borgata Spring Poker Open starts tomorrow (4/14) at noon EST.
